Desborough continues to grow and
develop. Its population today is now just over 8000.
There are over 300 individuals and companies providing shops,
services and industry in the town.
The major employer in the town is Rigid Containers.
There are several small units on the Pipewell Road Industrial Estate.

Only two public houses remain, the George and the Oak Tree
(until 2003 the Kings Arms.) Both have been extensively refurbished.
The main shops are along Station Road. A few remain
in the High Street which was devastated by development in the late 20th
century.
The local football club - Desborough Town or 'Ar Tarn' -
has its ground in Braybrooke Road. The Cricket Club is based at West
Lodge Farm. There is a thriving Bowling Club next to the recreation
Ground. Other sports can be found at the Leisure Centre.
