Desborough Amateur Dramatic Society

Home Page

There has been a dramatic society in Desborough, Northamptonshire since 1932. For various reasons - including World War Two and the advent of television - its activities have stopped and started.

However, since 1974 there have been yearly performances, often with two and sometimes with three performances a year.

The Society practices and performs at the Catholic Hall in Victoria Street in Desborough.  This is a small hall with a stage. Seating numbers are limited and the Society frequently performs each night for a week to packed houses.  In 2002 the Society staged "A Christmas Carol" with a large cast including many youngsters.  This was the start of a renewed effort to look to the future of the society with the hope that a new generation will be nurtured with an appreciation of live theatre combined with a sense of community.

The Society is holding an open evening on Wednesday 2nd July 2008 in the Catholic Church Hall, Victoria Street, Desborough
