In
accordance with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, Kettering
Borough Council has prepared a series of documents which form the Local
Development Framework (LDF) for the Borough. The Preferred Options is the
first formal stage in the preparation of the Rothwell and Desborough Urban
Extension Area Action Plan (AAP).
Once the Preferred Options for the Rothwell and Desborough AAP are taken
forward to the submission AAP they will, when adopted (with or without
alteration following an independent examination) also form part of the
Development Plan for Kettering Borough.
The Development Plan forms the basis for decisions about the use and
development of land in the area. The specific role of the AAP's will be to
set out the vision, objectives and detailed policies for the growth in the
particular areas.
The Rothwell and Desborough AAP will include the identification of the urban
extension boundary and policies pertaining to housing, employment, services,
facilities, recreation and open space. The plan will also detail design
criteria in relation to the urban extension.
Rothwell and Desborough Urban Extension Area Action Plan Preferred Options
were published for a six-week consultation period on 9th October 2006. A
Sustainability Appraisal of the Preferred Options was published on the same
date. |
