Track closures

Greyhounds UK is undertaking analyses to determine whether the greyhounds that ran at Walthamstow and Reading tracks shortly before they closed went on to establish new stable lives elsewhere. The analyses are entirely factual. They contain no judgments. They use only used public domain data and communications from anyone having direct knowledge of specific dogs.

The conclusions of the Walthamstow analysis were: (a) 70% of the greyhounds that ran at Walthamstow shortly before it closed in mid-August went on to establish new stable lives elsewhere – either racing at other tracks or joining a re-homing scheme; (b) there is no evidence that any of the remaining dogs are stable – most of them have trialed or raced only occasionally over the last 3 months and many have not been seen for 2 months or more; and (c) the number of ex-Walthamstow greyhounds which disappeared from view altogether now stands at zero. No further analyses of the Walthamstow greyhounds are currently scheduled.

The current results of the Reading track closure analysis are shown opposite and in the table (button below). If you have relevant information about any of the 224 dogs in the Reading list, please submit a report using the button below.
