School of Wrestling. Affiliated to the British Wrestling Association (www.britishwrestling.org) Freestyle is one of two styles of wrestling practiced in Olympic and international amateur competition. Freestyle wrestling appeared in the 1904 Olympic games. The first World Championship took place in Helsinki in 1951.  Classes for anyone over 7 years old are now held on Tuesday evenings from 7 pm at the Co-op Hall in Havelock Street. Founded in 1896, DTFC are members of the United Counties League (Premier and Reserve Division One) and the Northants Senior Youth League (under 18s).

The Social Club is open Mondays to Thursdays from 1900 to 2300 hours; Fridays 1400 to 2300 hours; Saturdays 1100 to 2300 hours and Sundays 12 noon to 2230 hours.

Targetcraft Archery Club was formed in 1987 and is a target club affiliated to
the Grand National Archery Society ( GNAS ). All Styles of bows are used in the
club, these include traditional longbows, Olympic ( recurve ) and the modern

image: logo of United Karate Kai The United Karate Kai in Desborough is part of a group of 4 Shotokan karate clubs in Northamptonshire. Shotokan is one of the oldest forms of karate and was developed by the father of modern karate, Master Gichin Funakoshi (Shoto). Chief Instructor is the Shotokan Legend and Traditional Karate Columnist, Sensei Vince Cullan.
The United Karate Kai is a member of the Midlands Shotokan Federation and the British Traditional Karate Federation. Every student is licenced and insured through the governing body and as members of the Midlands Shotokan Federation has many opportunities for courses, seminars and competitions.
United Karate Kai takes students with all levels of fitness.
