The Floodlighting Appeal

Through Jesus Christ, St Giles Church is here to be a caring, sharing, worshipping community meeting the needs of all people

It is almost 40 years since the front of St Giles Church was first floodlit at night. Now it is proposed that we should try to floodlight the tower and spire through all 360 degrees.

It will then be possible to see the spire from the by-pass and as one descends the hill from Rothwell.

A technical specification has been obtained from a company specialising in floodlighting and in keeping light pollution to a minimum.

The target for the appeal is £6000.

There can be no doubt that many will be pleased to see the church illuminated at sundown as a gentle reminder of God's light in our world and will be proud to see the best made of the oldest building in town.
