Saturday September 2nd we had a barbecue.  Rain had been promised by the Met office, but it held off and, despite a blustery wind, a great time was had by all.

Safari Suppers involve having each of three dinner courses in  three different houses with three different groups of people.  Each couple is only responsible for preparing one course and the main ingredients are supplied.  We finish all together in one house for coffee (as shown in the pictures.)

photo:Inspector LeClueOur Murder Mystery Night was a great success. We had an evening of mystery, intrigue, entertainment and fun at the Deputy-Mayor's Mansion in Casablanca (the Catholic Church Hall suitably decorated.) We travelled in time back to October 1942 when cosmopolitan Casablanca was in the grip of Vichy-French rule as the allies fought the Nazis.  Assembled at the table was a mix of politicians, German officials, emigrées and artisans. But the guest of honour, the 'Black Cat,' was murdered.

Photo: the cast of characters

Sitting down to a three course meal with wine, we interrogated the colourful cast of characters to expose their secrets, helped by Inspector LeClue. Having seen all the clues we made our accusations at the end of the evening and found out 'whodunnit.'

Millionaires Night is the opportunity to dress posh and have a flutter on the gaming tables.  The pictures are from the 2003 event.

Faites vos jeux.

Now, which numbers shall I go for this time?

The Millionaires' Bar

Turn another card - I know this one's a winner!

Help yourself from the magnificent spread in Q's Buffet.  Sit down and eat and then return to the gaming tables.
